Goose Translator

A bunch of goose sounds for you to match with goose sounds!

Goose Hiss

Translation: Get away from my territory or I will attack you!

If a Goose is hissing at you then you're probably too close to it's babies, nesting area, or just generally too close to their territory. Remember, Geese are very territorial birds.

Geese Agitated

Translation: We are very agitated with you get out of our territory or we will drag you into the pond and drown you.

Geese are constant protectors of the pond, once I saw a bunch of Canada Geese make a small German Sheperd whimper after the dog attempted to attack the goslings. Geese always protect the smaller ducks from foxes wolves, and, you guessed it, humans. If geese are getting mad at you the best thing to do is just step away and try not toanger them any more, because that would not end well for you.

Goose Mating Call

Translation: Mating call.

They're looking for mates to have a nest with, Geese are monogamous, so usually only juveniles have to mate for the first time.

Flying and Foraging, In Conversation

Translation: Think of it as Geese are talking to each other the same way you would talk to your freinds and family during dinner.

Geese are almost constantly grazing when they are not flying. They like to do this to give themselves enough energy to fly.

Flying:

Translation: Up here's a good place to stop and roost!

When geese are flying they are often talking about directions, good places to stop for eating and good places to sleep for the night. They can also be signaling the other geese in the pond to watch out if they are landing.

Dawn Call

Translation: Song/Call

Geese are one of the most vocal birds in the waterfowl family, and they always sing when they wake up, kind of like a rooster except they all honk.

Warning Honk

Translation: Song/Call

Geese are one of the most vocal birds in the waterfowl family, and they always sing when they wake up, kind of like a rooster except they all honk.

Goose Nod

Translation :)

A goose nodding has been speculated by many that it means to smile, if you pay attention it will nod its head when it's with it's mate, and when its eating grass. Tip: If you nod your head at a goose it might nod back, I guess smiling is contagious, even among geese.
